Nathan Tomlinson, 21, was last seen by a friend in the Mitre Bar, near Manchester Cathedral in the city centre, at around 10.15pm on Friday, December 17.
Police have released an image of a man taken on the night he went missing after a works Christmas party a week ago.
Nathan Tomlinson, 21, was last seen by a friend in the Mitre Bar, near Manchester Cathedral in the city centre, at around 10.15pm on Friday, December 17.
He was also picked up on CCTV walking past Manchester Cathedral and heading towards Salford on the night he disappeared.
Police have launched an urgent appeal to trace him and said officers were 'becoming increasingly concerned about his welfare'. His family are being kept up to date with developments.
Detective Chief Inspector Pete Giles, of the Major Incident Team, said: “It is almost a week since Nathan was last seen and the police, like his family, are extremely concerned for his welfare.
“We are making extensive inquiries to trace him and establish his movements on the night he went missing and I am keen to hear from anyone who can help us piece this together.
“We know he walked past the cathedral and from there he could have gone one of a number of ways into Salford or into a taxi.
“I want people to look closely at this image and if they think they saw him last Friday or any time since please get in touch. I also want to appeal to Nathan directly to make contact with either the police or your family as a matter of urgency.”
Nathan is white, 5ft 7, slim, with fair hair that is shaved around the sides and longer on the top. He has distinctive tattoos on the back of his neck and forearms.
When he went missing, Nathan was seen wearing a green jumper, dark jeans, a black jacket and black trainers.
Yesterday, his brother Paul Tomlinson, 26, from Reddish, a tattooist, appealed for help to trace him.
He said: “"This is so out of character. Obviously we are worried, it is totally out of character and we have heard absolutely nothing. If he was somewhere now we would get a phone call so we have got to think something has happened.”
Anyone with information is asked to call police on 0161 872 5050.
