Police are searching the flat of a Dutch man who lived next door to murdered architect Joanna Yeates.
Vincent Tabak, 32, is registered as living at the address with his girlfriend.
Officers erected scaffolding around the property earlier today hours after it was announced that a suspect, 32, had been arrested in connection with the case.
Bristol and Avon police have not named the man, who is being held at an undisclosed location.
Soon afterwards specialist search teams moved into the neighbouring flat to where Miss Yeates lived at 44 Canynge Road in Clifton, Bristol.
Calls to Mr Tabak's employer were today being referred to  Avon and Somerset Police.
Following the announcement of the arrest this morning, Canynge Road in Bristol was cordoned off by detectives and police teams descended on the Victorian mansion which contained her basement flat.
The tarpaulin was used to obscure the movements of the crime scene investigation team as they worked at the rear of the property.
Police refused to give any further details as to where or exactly when the suspect was arrested but Detective Chief Inspector Phil Jones, the senior investigating officer, said: 'I would like to thank the public for their continued support for the investigation and the information they have provided to us.

'I would also like to pay tribute to Jo's family and to Greg who continue to be unfailing in their support to me and my team at what is an incredibly difficult and painful time for them.'
Today Jo's father David Yeates said he was pleased that the investigation had moved forward.
Standing with his wife Teresa at their home in Ampfield, Hampshire, he said: 'Both Teresa and I are very pleased an arrest has been made and the investigation is moving forward.
'Police informed us this morning before they made the announcement about the arrest and other than that we do not know much more.
'We are optimistic about the progress, but we have not been told the name of the person who has been arrested.'
It is understood that police have withheld the name of the arrested man because of the media frenzy that followed the first arrest in the case, that of Jo's landlord Chris Jefferies, 65.
There are strict instructions on what media outlets can and cannot report during police investigations and it is understood that investigators were extremely unhappy with some coverage that they felt overstepped the mark, potentially jeopardising their enquiries.

Mr Jeffries is said to be considering suing police for wrongful arrest after his name and photograph were widely circulated in connection with the case.
His friend Irving Steggles, said 'He is preparing a case against the media and the police, I believe. This has completely shattered his life.'
As part of the statement released to confirm the arrest this morning, police gave a firm instruction to media outlets covering the case.
It read: 'Proceedings are active and everyone is reminded of the Contempt of Court Act and therefore you will understand that we cannot discuss any more details at this stage.'
