THE heartbroken family of Jo Yeates yesterday begged anyone who suspects they know her murderer's identity to speak out.
Her parents David and Teresa, who said they were convinced Jo knew her killer, added: "If you do know something, come forward. Please don't prolong our torment."
The pair also made an emotional plea to Britain's "armchair detectives" - asking for help identifying her killer before he strikes again.
David and Teresa said that among the millions who have followed the case could be someone who has vital clues that may nail the strangler.
Strangled ... Joanna Yeates
They may have noticed someone reacting strangely to a mention of the murder - or behaving bizarrely around the time Jo vanished on December 17 or was found dead on Christmas Day.
Teresa said: "Do you know anyone that hasn't been shocked or disturbed? Has anyone you know had an unusual or inexplicable reaction?
"Was their behaviour unusual on the weekend of 17/18/19th December or in the past three weeks?
"Do you know someone who has been behaving out of character either by actions, or what is said - or not said? Do you know someone who has inexplicably become reclusive, quiet or vocal?"
She said the intense media focus on Jo meant people were familiar with the case, adding: "Many of us are armchair detectives. Scenarios abound regarding Jo.
"But has someone tried to impress on you a scenario which has been inconsistent with the information released by the police - and refused to change it?

"The nation is shocked and appalled by what has happened to our daughter. Do you know someone who has been, somehow, justifying her being killed?

"If you do know something and you do not come forward you are consciously hampering the apprehension of Jo's killer - and the perpetrator is still free. You will also be prolonging the torment of Jo's family and friends."
David and Teresa were joined by Jo's boyfriend Greg Reardon and her brother Chris. Teresa said: "Jo was probably acquainted with her killer. We are sure the killer will be brought to justice."
David added: "The last weeks have been a nightmare and we want to do everything we can to make sure every bit of information is picked up as quickly as possible."
IT worker David, 63, and supermarket cashier Teresa, 58, made their appeal as part of a reconstruction for BBC's Crimewatch.
