It's being billed as a 'facelift in a bottle' but the latest way to zap sagging or drooping skin looks more like a bungee rope than a wrinkle cream.
Palm Beach woman Kimberly Aschauer developed the product 'Facelift Bungee' after being bowled over by the $5,000 price tag of a real mini-facelift.
The entrepreneur wanted to look good for her son's wedding so invented a more affordable way to get rid of her wrinkles, using a piece of elastic fastened between two small combs, according to wxyz.com.
The device is attached to small braids on either side of the face, and is covered by hair. Magically, without surgery, Ms Aschauer said her face tightened, and her wrinkles dissolved.
'Right before my very eyes when I was looking in the mirror, I watched 10 years come off my face.'
She is now selling the product, which is marketed in a jar like a face cream, for $24.99 at 17 stores in Florida and online.
On the Facelift Bungee website, she touts the product as an 'affordable way to hold your face up for the day (or every day) without spending thousands'.
'Created for all of us who want a fresh look but don't want painful surgery or costly injections, Facelift Bungee is instant, natural, removable, painless and invisible once inserted into hair,' the website boasts.
'We want all women to watch in the mirror as they insert facelift bungee into their hair and be amazed as up to 10 years are lifted off instantly.'
The bizarre contraption has already developed quite the following from women who either don't want to go under the knife or can't afford surgery.
But it seems destined for even bigger success.
The Today show recently featured the product during Hoda and Kathie Lee’s show and ABC's Shark Tank is keen to get Ms Aschauer on the program, which sees self-made millionaires fight over businesses to invest in.
'I’m like, you’re kidding me. They said they were amazed by your product and would like to have you on the show,' she said.
Ms Aschauer hopes other women will see the same results she does, although those who get headaches when they wear a pony-tail may want to steer clear.
'I get up, brush my teeth, and pop my bungee in,' she said. 'It’s that simple.'
