Officers cordoned off the Victorian townhouse at 37 Aberdeen Road in Clifton – which is one mile from Canynge Road – at around 12.30pm.
A white transit police van – with ‘scientific investigations’ emblazoned on the side – was parked in its driveway throughout the afternoon.
Three forensic experts, dressed in white suits and gloves, were seen going into the main door of the run-down building, which is believed to contain a number of flats.
Up to 12 police officers were also at the scene protecting the property.
Emily Williams, 31, a Facebook friend of Mr Tabak, is listed on the Electoral Register as living at 37 Aberdeen Road.
It is thought he may have been staying in Aberdeen Road after being forced to leave his flat in Canynge Road last month while police combed the building.

Avon and Somerset Police would only confirm the search was part of ”ongoing investigations”.
The residential street in, Clifton, Bristol, is a popular student area and residents said neighbours regularly came and went.
One nearby neighbour, Richard Hope-Hawkins, 61, said he was surprised by the police activity.
He said: ”This is a typical student area, with people coming and going all the time.
”It’s a lovely place to live and I didn’t expect to see all these police on my doorstep today.”
Earlier, police placed a tarpaulin around the ground floor flat belonging to Jo Yeates and the next door flat belonging to workspace expert Mr Tabak.
